Why did you name your website "404City"?

"404" symbolizes the true fate of this website. To be clearer: Neocities, internet, other websites... everything will eventually come to an end and it includes this website too. I also think it kinda sounds "numerical" or "glitchy" in the name. And "City" simply comes from Neo-Cities. It also kinda reminds me of cyberpunk, which I think is cool, so I used it for my name.

How did you join Neocities and make your website?

In May 2025, I heard about Geocities in a YouTube video. I got curious and did some research about Geocities and when I learned about it, I really wanted to make my own website. Unfortunately, Geocities was shut down in 2009. So, I searched few alternatives and found Neocities. After that, I created a Neocities account. Then, with the help of the Internet, I was able to make it using HTML, CSS and JS from scratch. And I've been improving it ever since. It's an amazing hobby for me.

Which guides did you follow to learn HTML, CSS and JS?

I didn't follow a single guide, but W3Schools and MDN Web Docs were good enough for me.

Which IDEs do you use to make your website?

I mostly use Neocities' own editor. But I also use VS Code with Live Share or Notepad++ to code it offline.

Where do you host your external files?

I use GitHub Pages for that. I was using CatBox previously, but it sometimes had server issues, so I moved them to GitHub Pages.

Can I use some of your codes?

As long as you credit me on your own website and without fully copying them, I'm okay with it.

Where did you get these images, widgets, apps, fonts etc.?

Some of them are made by me, others are listed in "Links" page.

Why my cursor is a plus sign?

It's an cursor shape that mostly used in Excel. I wanted to use it on my own site, because I felt like it's very unique and underrated. And I think it looks cool.

Why do you create new content so rarely?

• Busy because of school :(
• Low motivation and laziness
• Don't have many ideas for what to create.

Other than that, I'm still here. I really love this place.

Proof that your site isn't made by AI.

Well, the site is still under construction and I still have many future plans about it, which means I could've finished it by now using AI.

But that would be sad.

What does your nickname "DNL" mean?

DNL is abbreviation of my own name. It's not "Daniel" or "Daniele" (lol), so don't waste your time guessing it.

How often are you online?

I'm usually online on weekends and summer or winter vacations. I'm studying at a boarding school and don't have a laptop or PC with me and it might take a month to make me return.

How can I contact you?

You can contact me from my site's chatbox, guestbook or Neocities. I might answer a bit late because of my laziness and shyness. Sorry! T_T

Do you make music?

No. But, In the future, I would love to learn how to make my own tracker music. I love retro music! I'm also kinda thinking of digitial hardcore and some other stuff too.

Are you good at art?

It's subjective. But, some people have told me I'm good at it. So, I guess I'm not that bad. I don't actually draw often, but for some reason, I kinda like it.

Have you ever fallen in love?

I did. And when I look back, I realize how stupid I was. Don't get me wrong, I don't think falling in love is wrong. Falling in love with wrong people is wrong. In fact, I've never even dated once, it was just a platonic love!

Are you generalist or specialist?

Specialist, I guess.

What's your favourite number and shape?

Two and square!

Do you think AI will replace software and computer engineers?

Let me answer with a simple analogy:
"We've got calculators. So we don't need mathematicians anymore!"
